Nando’s Aims For The Skies For The First Time With En Route Partnership
En Route International, a leading global provider of onboard food service solutions, has partnered with Nando’s to launch its first-ever range of snack products for the travel catering market.
The new commercial partnership will see the introduction of products such as a Houmous snackbox with PERi-PERi Drizzle and pitta chips, half-popped corn and PERi-PERi sauce sachets.
The products have been jointly developed, with the En Route new product development and creative teams working closely with the Nando’s Grocery team over a nine-month period to create the new snacks. The partnership will also see the two companies work together to develop more products specifically targeted at the onboard market.
En Route will use its global reach to distribute the snack range amongst a broad range of airlines across continental Europe, USA, the Middle East, Australia and the UK.
Robert Dalboth, managing director, En Route International, said: “Nando’s is an incredibly popular brand with a very loyal customer base. It is a real privilege to be able to partner the company in its first-ever venture into the travel catering market.
“Like En Route, Nando’s is a dynamic business which has ambitious growth plans. This was a major factor which brought our two businesses together. We are all very much looking forward to working with the team to take our products to a global audience.”
Georg Gruber, CEO, Nando’s Grocery added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Team En Route and their global travel expertise. Working together, allows us to take our Southern African flavour and warmth to the skies, linking the 24 markets where we are proud to have Nando’s restaurants and PERi-PERi grocery products in leading retailers.
“We know that Nando’s consumers have a keen sense of adventure and enjoy travel, so this range of innovative Nando’s PERi-PERi snacks enables us to serve them on their travels!”
