Air China Shifts to Pre-Packaged Food Only & Bottled Water on Some Flights from Europe & USA

Air China have suspended their normal in-flight meal services on some flights to Europe and the US due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The airline released the following statement on their website today:

‘Dear passengers,
In accordance with COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control guidelines, and with a view to protecting our crew’s and your own personal health and safety, with immediate effect on Air China flights to China from some European cities and the United States, only pre-packaged food and bottled water will be provided. Except for special needs, no in-flight meals will be served. During the epidemic, special meal services are suspended on Air China operated flights until further notice. Please make the relevant arrangements prior to your scheduled flight departure. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and support.’

The airline also announced that there would be adjustments to the accommodation at the Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport and they will stop accommodating passenger from certain countries:

Dear passengers,
According to the latest epidemic prevention and control requirements, from this moment forward, Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport will stop accommodating passengers from the following four countries: South Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan.
Therefore, Air China transit accommodation service in Beijing has been adjusted accordingly, and the booking of transit accommodation service has been suspended for passengers from the above four countries. If you have booked Air China transit accommodation service in Beijing with Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport, you will not be able to check in. Please adjust your itinerary and accommodation arrangement in time.
