Another successful fiscal year for the Bayreuth technology company

The medium-sized family company DESKO, based in Bayreuth in Upper Franconia, achieved a turnover of 18 million euros with the sale of hardware and software solutions for the verification of ID documents and is continuing the successful trend of recent financial years.

In addition to the internationally established business with special scanners and keyboards, which are developed at DESKO and produced with regional partners, the management invested in the expansion of the software portfolio in 2023. For the “hardware specialist” DESKO, the portfolio expansion is a strategic decision with far-reaching consequences.

“This step – and the investments associated with it – opens up new potential for us on the verification market. We are expanding our product range in the area of software, so that for the first time we can offer hardware and software packages that meet every requirement and every application. We are pleased with the positive sales development at DESKO in recent years, which has enabled us to make such decisions. Of course, we want to continue this trend in the new fiscal year,” explains Werner Zahn, DESKO founder and Managing Director.

The product launch of the ID Analyze software is planned for the new fiscal year, which began on 1st April. The application is modular and can be expanded to meet different identity verification requirements. With licenses, users can activate features within the application for the analysis and verification of ID documents. The software adapts to the customer’s requirements and is particularly easy to integrate into existing software infrastructure.

In addition to expanding the product range, the focus in the new year will also be on growing the global business. Due to the promising order situation in South America, DESKO will be working with an expanded sales concept in this region in order to establish pioneering technologies on the market there.

Positive signals are also being received from India and Africa, so DESKO is investing in market development projects here.

The technology company DESKO is also on track for growth in terms of personnel. In the past fiscal year 2023, the company invested heavily in expanding its international workforce. A total of 18 positions in the Research & Development, Purchasing, Sales and Production departments were occupied within a short period of time.

“Of course, we were particularly focused on building up our software team in order to provide the necessary capacity for our strategic goals. Our marketing measures to raise awareness of the DESKO brand as an employer have had a very good effect: We had no difficulty in finding the specialists we were looking for within a short period of time,” says a delighted Werner Zahn

DESKO GmbH, with headquarters in Bayreuth, has sister companies in the USA and Singapore and employs a total of 61 people worldwide. DESKO products are manufactured exclusively with regional partners.
