Bucher Leichtbau AG, the aircraft interiors specialist, has developed and produced galley monuments, stowage units and front-row monuments for the retrofit of five SWISS A340 aircraft.
The Airline is currently in process of updating its A340 fleet. In addition to new seats throughout the aircraft, SWISS is also implementing a new Business Class/First Class standard.
Over a condensed development period, the collaboration between Bucher and SWISS focused on optimizing the layout of the workplace for crew, improving the design of the cabin, and enhancing the overall passenger travel experience.
Christoph Kienast, A340 Cabin Refurbishment Project Manager at SWISS:
“We have worked with Bucher’s specialists for many years now and have always been very satisfied with their consistent and personal service as well as the resulting products. That’s why we also picked Bucher to help modernize our A340 fleet.
“Bucher assisted us with this retrofit by equipping the aircraft with expertly-designed galleys, front-row monuments and stowage units. We were especially impressed by the quality and the very low expected maintenance costs over the entire life cycle of the products.”
Quality is always a key factor at Bucher. This can be attributed to the founder of the company, Heinrich Bucher. Heinrich was driven by the idea of producing lightweight galleys made of aluminum.
Bucher has continued to refine and optimize this unique lightweight construction concept. Bucher, however, does also offer composite and carbon fiber solutions, which allows the company to remain flexible and adapt its products quickly and efficiently to meet individual customer requirements. Bucher is a reliable partner for all linefit and retrofit projects.
