Two Totally New Bag Check-In and Payment Systems Being Unveiled at The Expo! Seamless Travel and Simple Payment… Not To Be Missed!
Amadeus Airport Pay launches its new common use, multi-airline payment terminal device
Amedeus Airport Pay, the first payment solution in the industry that can be used by multiple airlines from the same shared payment device, will be launched for the first time at Passenger Terminal Expo.
Paying for ancillaries at the airport can be a painful experience for passengers. After queuing for check-in and bag-drop, it is commonplace to have to walk to the far end of the terminal to pay for excess luggage or a flight upgrade. This typical scenario is because shared check-in desks cannot accommodate the specific payment needs of multiple airlines and ground handlers.
Amadeus has come up with a solution to this problem; the Amadeus Airport Pay, which is the first payment solution in the industry that accepts EMV chip card payments and can be used by multiple airlines and ground handlers from the same shared payment device.
Amadeus Airport Pay creates a simple platform to connect multiple bank merchants with all airline DCSs, facilitating the payment process among the two.
And with latest technology hardware, passengers can pay with a contact and contactless EMV chip card, or an EMV compliant mobile payment device such as Apple Pay or Android Pay. As a result, airports can now offer their airlines, ground handlers and passengers a more pleasant experience, based on the convenience of doing all check-in related transactions at the same counter.
Amadeus Airport Pay will be presented for the first time this year at Passenger Terminal Expo. For a full demonstration and to speak to our team of experts to find out more, visit the Amadeus stand.

The future for easy travel with a seamless journeys experience using the latest biometric technology, is to be unveiled at Passenger Terminal Expo
Materna ips, with its partner Rimowa Electronic Tag will unveil its concept for a complete end-to-end passenger journey from check-in to boarding by using a single token ID, for seamless passenger experience.
Seamless travelling starts at home in the living room when passengers can check-in and tag their bags with electronic bag tags using the innovative Rimowa mobile App. Alternatively they can check in later at one of the Materna kiosks at the airport equipped with automatic face enrolment for biometric identification, allowing passengers to make use of latest kiosk technology made for specific requirements and ADA-compliance.
Visitors at the stand will also experience the whole range of self bag drop solutions designed for one or two-step bag drop processes, all based on intuitive graphical user guidance. Materna, as the leading supplier for self bag drop, offers different solutions based on retrofit or kiosk models which even fit to challenging customer requirements.
After the easiest way of dropping-off their suitcases, passengers can make use of single biometric token technologies to enter the security area using Materna´s secure access gates with biometric identification. They can then enjoy airport facilities or proceed to their gates directly where they use Materna’ s biometric self-boarding gates.
