This Apple’s Not Welcome at 35000ft

The aviation authorities of Vietnam and Hongkong have joined a growing number of other countries in banning some MacBook Pro products that have potential battery risks.

Apple has determined that, in a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units, the battery may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.

If you own a MacBook Pro 15 inch that was produced from September 2015 to February 2017 then you will be prohibited from taking it with you on your flight (Both carry-on or checked bag)

The ban applies at the following airports – HongKong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang

Restrictions already apply in USA, along with Quantas and Virgin Australia, Singapore and Thai Airlines.
