Thessaloniki–Amsterdam: AEGEAN’s network in Thessaloniki grows even further and the city acquires another new, direct international route
Last week, AEGEAN inaugurated a new direct flight to and from Amsterdam, further expanding the company’s international network from its base at Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia”.
More specifically, AEGEAN will now operate three weekly flights to and from Amsterdam Airport “Schiphol” throughout the winter season, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while it has already been decided to maintain the route for the summer season of 2025. Thus, AEGEAN further strengthens Thessaloniki’s network to popular European destinations, offers passengers in the city and the region of Northern Greece more travel options and enhances Thessaloniki’s potential to become an attractive tourist destination all year round.
AEGEAN in cooperation with Fraport Greece celebrated with the passengers of the first flight at Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia” the new route, while surprises awaited passengers at Amsterdam Airport “Schiphol”. It is noted that flight occupancy rates are already showing high rates, confirming the strong demand for this route and the importance of the connection for the local market.
It is reminded that last summer AEGEAN operated to 20 international and 15 domestic destinations to and from Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia”, while this winter season it connects Thessaloniki with more than 14 European destinations, such as Frankfurt, Munich, Larnaca, Zurich, Rome, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, as well as with 11 domestic destinations.
