PAGE GSE

Ground Support Equipment

PAGE GSE was founded in 1976 and was initially established in the 400 Hz marketplace, developing Gate Boxes, Line Drop Compensators, military ramp power distribution equipment, hangar power systems and a multitude of other 400 Hz power distribution components. PAGE has also had significant presence in the GSE market aside from power distribution, we provide PCA Hose Reels, aircraft boarding bridge mounted PCA Hose Reels, PCA Connectors and Baggage Chutes. PAGE was both the designer and manufacturer of these products, but, because it was private labeled and sold by vendors, end users were not aware they were using PAGE products.

In 2012 PAGE GSE began promoting and selling their products directly to the customer both domestically and internationally. To ensure the highest quality customer service and product offerings, we have expanded our company which included bringing Mr. Brian Piety on as an owner of PAGE. With over 25 years of experience in the airline industry, Brian brings the same passion and customer service expertise PAGE was founded on. In 2013 Mr. Bruce Hrenko and Mr. Dale Miller joined PAGE Industries as part owners bringing the combined direct GSE experience of all employees to well over 150 years. Bruce with his vast knowledge of product management, airline management and sales experience and Dale with his extensive hands-on understanding of the military markets and customer support ensure a staff that can meet all of PAGE’s customers’ needs. During this expansion period we delved deeper into our product offerings and added high performance single jacket power cables as well as banded cable assemblies for both 400Hz and 28VDC applications. We offer PCAir hoses, aircraft cable storage devices, as well as air start, lavatory, and potable water components to provide our customers with a one stop source for all their Ground Support Equipment and service needs. Our innovative staff offers industry leading products and solutions that are truly unique and superior in appearance and functionality from what is currently being offered in the Ground Support Equipment industry.

PAGE has consistently maintained the absolute highest standard of quality and attention to detail in the industry, qualities that PAGE considers essential to the safe support of aircraft and the personnel who use our equipment. Our commitment to customer service is second to none and we strive to exceed customers’ expectations. This drive to be the best is evident throughout PAGE and our employees reflect this can do sprit on a daily basis by serving you, the customer. As our customers like to say about PAGE GSE, “It doesn’t get any better than this”.

Company Profile

  • PCAir Hoses

    Pre Conditioned Air Hose Products

PAGE GSE’s PCAir hoses are the best available in the world due to their superior craftsmanship and materials that are used.

    Exterior Layer

    • The exterior layer utilizes the same proprietary extruded construction as the interior layer only is constructed using stronger material.
    • The fabric is a 19oz extruded PVC reinforced by 1300dx2000d yarns going 9×9 in the warp and weft directions.
    • The Extrusion coating provides an exceptional molecularly bonded composition.
    • Fabric material is very strong relative to its weight and is exceptionally tear resistant.
    • PVC compound adds UV inhibitors and mold as well as mildew resistance.
    • Fabric is fire resistant and is self-extinguishing. CSAM427 – V880 fire compliant.

    Interior Layer

    • The internal fabric layer is a 14oz Yellow/ Black Extruded PVC that is reinforced with polyester scrim.
    • The Polyester scrim is a weft insertion knit using 500dx1000 yarns going 18×9 in the warp and weft directions. The scrim construction utilizes a third tie yarn that locks the knitted yarns in thereby preventing any yarns from shifting, stretching or moving around when fabric is under tension.
    • Our proprietary PVC extrusion coating provides a molecular bond with the polyester scrim creating a very strong composition with adhesion typically 50-70% better than laminated fabrics commonly used for PCA ducting.
    • The fabric backside is coated in the color black to reduce opacity and help slow the transfer of heat and refraction from hot ambient conditions. The materials need to be as light as possible and this is another way to add R-value and help maximize delivery of conditioned air.
    • Fabric material is very strong relative to its weight and is exceptionally tear resistant.
    • PVC compound adds UV inhibitors and mold and mildew resistance.
    • Fabric is fire resistant and is self-extinguishing. NFPA701-V820 fire compliant.

  • Visual Aircraft Docking System – Gate Park

    P1900 Gate Park System

PURPOSE: The Gate Park System allows the aircraft pilot to precisely position an aircraft on a taxi line that leads to a final parking position at the gate. The system provides not only guidance on lateral position, but also guidance on forward motion of the aircraft.

    PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

The Gate Park System consists of two guidance elements mounted at the gate in front of the aircraft, plus an operator’s control switch The lateral guidance element consists of an aluminum housing and shade hood which support a pair of vertical, Light Emitting Diode (LED) light bars, one red and one green. The LED light bars are mounted fore and aft of each other on the same axis such that when the pilot is positioned directly in front of the LED bars, only green is visible. As deviation to left or right increases, the rear mounted (red) LED light bar is no longer shielded by the green LED light bar, making red visible. The red LED light bar would be visible to the left of the green LED light bar if, for instance, the aircraft drifted to the left of the taxi line approaching the gate.

The forward motion guidance element consists of a polycarbonate, three (3) light, signal head, mounted horizontally and directly under the lateral guidance element. The indications are the red light signals “gate unavailable” or “stop”, the yellow light indicates “prepare to stop”; and the green light indicates “continue forward”. Each light is equipped with a “visor type” sun shade. A ground operator is responsible for control of the forward motion guidance element by means of the operator control switch.

The operator’s control switch is a three (3) button, hand held, pendant type station, P1900-072, that controls all functions of the Gate Park System. The yellow and green push buttons control the respective lights and are illuminated only when the button is depressed. When the button is released the signal reverts back to red alerting the aircraft commander to stop the aircraft. The third push button is an emergency stop button. This button is utilized to override the yellow and green button to provide a fail safe system. The switch assembly is hung from the passenger bridge in a position convenient to the ground operator. Operation of all lights in both guidance elements are controlled by this switch. Provision of the pendant connection at the bridge is an issue that must be separately addressed. An optional four (4) button hand held station, P1900-019 is also available.

Control of multiple Gate Park Systems at a single gate would require separation of systems by means of a selector switch. This switch is available as an optional item.

    MOUNTING CONSIDERATIONS

The Gate Park System is pre-assembled and wired on a mounting frame. An aluminum backing plate is optional for gate identification. The lateral guidance element may be rotated left or right to compensate for angle variations. Exact alignment to the aircraft viewing axis is critical. Vernier adjustment is provided. Adjustment of the lateral viewing angle of the forward motion guidance element will not be required if the viewing angle is with ±10° of perpendicularity to the aircraft viewing axis. Angle variations greater than ±10° will require that an offset be made in the position of the mounting frame bracket. This would be accomplished by simple adjustment of mounting bolts at the terminal box to mounting bracket connection. An opening for 3/4″ electrical conduit is provided in the terminal box bottom.

    ELECTRICAL DESCRIPTION

The Gate Park System uses a combination of LEDs and incandescent lights. The LEDs in the lateral guidance light bars have a life expectancy of 50,000 hours (continuous duty). In the forward motion guidance element, the LEDs in the red “stop” light have a life expectancy of 100,000 hours (continuous duty), while the incandescent lamps in yellow and green have a rated life of 8,000 hours (continuous duty). The only item with continuous duty is the red LED “stop” light. The red LED light uses only 11 watts compared to a 67 watt standard incandescent lamp.

Operating load at 120 volts, 50/60 Hz is as follows:

    • System idle, only the red LED “stop” light operating, 0.87 amp, 11 volt amperes.
    • System on, yellow or green light plus lateral guidance LEDs operating, 0.60 amps, 72 volt amperes.
