Marfo Food Group has developed Airline Inflight Catering Solutions since 1972, from a fresh frozen meals supplier to a total Inflight catering solutions provider, including packaging, design, presentation and logistics.
The 625 employees of the Marfo Food Group are responsible for approximately 200,000 meals a day, both Fresh Frozen and MAP, produced at the main facility in Lelystad, The Netherlands and in Veurne, Belgium.
These fresh frozen meal are delivered by the group throughout Europe, South America, Africa, Middle East and the Far East.
Marfo Food Group also has a shared production facility in New York serving the North American Continent.
From its strong position as a meal supplier, Marfo Food Group has developed a total approach to catering since 2015. As a product, the meal is part of a total presentation including aesthetic and purposefully designed packaging, with attention to logistic aspects. This “total catering solutions” concept is available worldwide.

In addition to airlines, Marfo Food Group also supplies meals and total solutions for the health care sector, for isolated locations such as offshore or military missions, and recently also for Retail. Recently, the commercial catering was added, where hotels can reduce problems such as lack of skilled staff and waste costs by using Marfo’s concepts and still serve their guests a good quality meal.
At Marfo Food Group, the taste aspect is given full attention: the Creadome team is working in co-creation with Michelin star chefs such as Jonnie Boer, Sergio Herman and Jacob Jan Boerma (***), Richard Ekkebus (**) and Margot Janse, to make top recipes.
It is Marfo Food Group’s strength to ensure that the refinement of their recipes can also be fully appreciated on aeroplanes, at great heights, where our sense of taste is weakened.
Sustainability: We do what we say
Sustainability is an important aspect of our business model. Our meals are CO2 neutral, we buy locally from farmers who use a minimum of pesticides, only process meat and chicken of animals who have had a good life, we run on 100% green wind energy, have our own water purification and our waste is reused for the production of biogas.
Meals for demanding travellers
On request, Marfo also prepares vegetarian, kosher or halal products (Marfo is the largest supplier of halal meals in Europe).
Intensive collaboration with dieticians from leading hospitals enables Marfo Food Group to serve diet meals considering every conceivable tolerance or allergy: Marfo delivers meals according to every SSR code from the IATA list.
In addition to complete meals and concepts, Marfo also produces snacks, starters, soups and desserts.
Marfo Total Solutions concepts are available for economy class as well as more luxurious versions for business class. The shown plate has space for various dishes. It is a modular system which can be assembled according to the customer’s wishes.
Packaging is an important part of the logistic process and simplifies logistics on board.
