Protecting crowded places from terrorist threats is one of society’s greatest security challenges. Using London Olympia as the place to be protected, UK Security Expo will show how a combination of technology, processes and techniques can be applied imaginatively in a variety of operational scenarios to improve protection from terrorist attack.

The Securing Crowd Places Immersive Demonstration consists of three linked zones set in and close to the entrance to the Olympia site. Visitors will have the option of passing through the Screen Zone themselves as they enter London Olympia and then visit each of the zones, where experts from industry and government will be on hand to discuss the wide range of issues that arise in this challenging area.

Commenting on the initiative, Admiral Lord West, Former UK Security Minister and Chairman of UK Security Expo said “I am thrilled to see the combined efforts of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) with the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) to use the venue of UK Security Expo as an immersive demonstration of ‘Securing Crowded Places’. I think this shows real commitment from government to partner with industry and support growth of the security sector.”

Peter Jones, Chief Executive, Nineteen Events added “The Secured Crowded Places Immersive Demonstrator is a fantastic showcase of how innovative modern technology, the application of good design and the imaginative use of human resource can all combine to improve the security of a crowded place with minimum interference to people’s lives and activities. We are delighted to have the support of London Olympia to bring this exciting initiative to UK Security Expo.”
