With the support of national strategies and industrial policies, China civil aviation industry has developed rapidly. The domestic ARJ aircraft is put into commercial operation, and C919 aircraft will be delivered to users in the near future. The number of civil aircraft fleets is also increasing. It is predicted that China will become the world’s largest aviation market by 2020. Undoubtedly it brings new opportunities for the development of the civil aviation market. But at the same time, it faces huge challenges. How to develop aviation maintenance levels and effective supply management has become key elements of ensuring aviation operations.

Under this background, the 3rd Civil Aircraft Operation Support Technology International Forum 2019 was successfully held in Tianjin from June 12th to 13th. It was hosted by Shanghai Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Civil Aircraft Operation Support Technology Sub-committee of CSAA; Supported by Air China Limited, China Southern Airlines Company Limited, Hainan Airlines Holding Co., Ltd, Eastern Airlines Technic Co., Ltd, Chengdu Airlines Co., Ltd, China Aviation Supplies Holding Company; Organized by Civil Aviation University of China, COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd and Galleon (Shanghai) Consulting Co., Ltd.

At this forum, Hao Yan, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Aviation Suppliers Co., Ltd., Xu Chaoyang, Deputy General Manager of Suppliers and Purchasing Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation, Huang Aijun, Specialized Deputy Chief Engineer of Operation Support Department of COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd., Yang Xinyu, General Manager of N/E Asia Marketing& Business Development of Boeing Global Service, Gao Shukui, General Manager of Aeronautical Equipment Department of Xiamen Airlines Ltd., and Head of China Cabin Supplier Program of China of Airbus, held a panel discussion on ” Construction of New Aviation Suppliers Demand Forecasting System”. During the discussion, the experts discussed hot issues such as how to prepare for the introduction of new aircraft, how to improve the efficiency of support and reduce the cost of support, and how to cooperate between OEM and MRO. They shared their experiences for many years, and the participants gain a lot.

At this forum, Shanghai Dinock New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and International Water-Guard Industries Inc. held a cooperative signing ceremony. This signing cooperation will have very important strategic significance for the long-term development of the two companies.

This forum attracted more than 260 participants from government agencies, industry organizations, airlines, parts suppliers, operators and related universities and enterprises. The forum focused on the hot topics of “Manufacturing and Maintenance of Domestic Civil Aircraft”, “Safety Operation Support system”, “Aviation Supply Management Mode” and “Future Development of Aviation Supply Chain System”.

With the theme of “Efficiency, Economy, Innovation, Collaboration, Green”, the forum aims to play an active role in the development of the aviation operation support system and the aviation spare parts industry by establishing a domestic and international aviation industry exchange platform. It is expected that more experts and scholars will participate in the next year to jointly promote the progress and development of the civil aircraft operation support system.
