For the first time, a new report released by the organisers of Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) – the world’s leading marketplace for airlines and the global supply chain to meet – has revealed the time and cost savings of using the event to source innovative solutions that will transform the passenger experience.

‘Saving Time at AIX’ has been developed with insights from leading industry experts to examine the average time spent travelling to meet suppliers and test new products, versus the time required to complete the same activity during the three-day long event in Hamburg. The results reveal the potential time savings achieved through the efficient planning and scheduling of meetings at the show.

AIX found that meetings with 10 suppliers – headquartered in five different countries – over the course of three days at AIX could take up to 20 days of travel and meetings if visiting the vendors’ showrooms and offices. Furthermore, while this considers the time taken, this doesn’t factor in the cost of flights, accommodation, expenses, and the knock-on effect on a company’s carbon footprint.

Attendees at Aircraft Interiors Expo, when it returns from 6-8 June 2023, will not only have the opportunity to see and test more than 1,000 products from leading global airline suppliers based in 30-plus countries. Dedicated zones will help attendees discover leading suppliers and specialists in key product areas; while the show’s popular CabinSpace Live Seminar theatre will connect attendees with cabin interior industry leaders as they share experiences and insights into current and emerging challenges – all on just one business trip and travel expense.

Speaking about the role of Aircraft Interiors Expo in facilitating important conversations, industry veteran Vern Alg, Independent Consultant in Aircraft Interiors Project Management, whose career has spanned more than 55 years including 25 with Continental said: “Aircraft Interiors Expo brings together all of the interiors community – from suppliers, buyers, observers – in one place. For airlines already in conversation with suppliers, it presents an opportunity to get everyone involved in a project together to troubleshoot, gain feedback, and understand the challenges or roadblocks facing a project. To get this face time outside of the show creates a significant logistical challenge and cost that AIX provides the solution to.”

This year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo will also, once again, enable attendees to save time by combining meetings and product testing all in one place. With a full spectrum of interior products and services on display, the event will deliver the optimal platform for product specifiers to see and test more than 1,000 products for every aspect of the cabin interiors environment, including cabin management systems, flooring solutions, galley equipment, in-flight entertainment and connectivity, interior paints and coverings, lighting, lavatory and waste equipment, seating and more.

Furthermore, the event’s show planning tool, AIX Connect will return to help key airline buyers meet exhibitors during the show, build business connections and discuss new projects. It will play a pivotal role in facilitating the industry’s desire to source the latest cabin innovations, technologies, inflight entertainment, and connectivity solutions by facilitating targeted business connections based on specific product requirements.

Polly Magraw, Event Director, Aircraft Interiors Expo, commented: “Connecting people to make new business contacts and source the right products is the cornerstone of Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX).  We know that suppliers and airlines return year-on-year as they recognise the show helps them save time and resources in their efforts to meet with suppliers and discover the latest cabin innovations to enhance the passenger experience. The chance to facilitate targeted business connections has never been easier with the AIX Connect Lounge and concierge service helping to make scheduling and efficiency a top priority for all.”

Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) returns to the Hamburg Messe from 6-8 June 2023 in Halls B1 – B7. It will follow the Passenger Experience Conference on 5 June and be co-located with World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), which can be found in Halls A1 and A4. Together, the events will provide passenger experience professionals with a unique opportunity to identify new products and solutions throughout the cabin.
