JET2 Launches New Meal Box for Children

Jet2 celebrated the launch of their brand-new meal box for kids being available onboard their flights by gifting two children from Droitwich a free family holiday.

Seven-year-old twins, Lucca and Luna Anthoney, who are travelling on a 7-night holiday with us to the Laguna Park I Apartments in Tenerife with their Mum, Donna Anthoney and Nan, were surprised onboard the aircraft when they found a golden ticket hidden inside one of our new meal boxes they had ordered. Having been the first in the UK to book one of our new meal boxes, the children were picked as the lucky customers, seeing Lucca and Luna receive a family holiday.

The golden ticket entitles Lucca and Luna, along with two adults, to a complimentary 7-night break in the future at the holiday complex located in the Costa Adeje. To add to the excitement, the twins also received VIP touches to enjoy such as a private transfer to their hotel and tickets to the Siam Park, the largest water park attraction in Tenerife.

After finding the golden ticket, the twins tucked into a delicious hot meal before enjoying some tasty snacks, including Cadbury’s Chocolate Buttons, Goodies Mini Cheese Crackers, Fruit Bowl Strawberry Peeler and Pip Organic Blackcurrant, Raspberry and Apple Fruity Water.

Helping to keep them entertained on their flight, Lucca and Luna put the activity pack and colouring pencils, which form part of our new children’s meal box offering, to good use. They were able to colour in, make their way through a maze, draw a selfie, test their concentration and play the alphabet game to make time fly while they were onboard. All this came presented in an exciting 100 percent recyclable box featuring “Jet” – a new aeroplane character!

Donna Anthoney, Mum of Lucca and Luna Anthoney who received a free family holiday, said: “We can’t believe it! We were already looking forward to our holiday to the Laguna Park I Apartments in Tenerife. It is my birthday and we booked this holiday as a surprise for the twins – they actually thought they were off to Wales for the week! This special surprise has made it even more memorable. Having enjoyed a family holiday here before, we are thrilled to have been selected as the lucky customers and cannot wait to visit Tenerife for the third time next year. We would like to say a huge thank you to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays!

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We couldn’t let the arrival of our new children’s meal boxes pass without marking the occasion and we are delighted to gift Lucca, Luna and their family with this special surprise. We hope Lucca and Luna enjoyed the tasty meal boxes and snacks, and were kept entertained by their activity packs while onboard, which are all included as part of our new children’s meal box offering.

“With this special surprise making for a great start to their holiday, we have no doubt that they will have a fantastic stay and we look forward to welcoming them onboard again next year.

In November last year, we announced that we were launching the brand-new children’s meal box, packed full of tasty options and fun activities to make mealtimes in the sky fun. February half-term was the first time that these new meals had been served onboard, with us wanting to mark the occasion with this special golden ticket giveaway.

Youngsters can choose from a tasty hot meal of either the All-Day Breakfast, Crispy Chicken Strips, Macaroni Cheese or Sausage and Mash as part of the new meal box, and will also receive the snacks, activity pack and colouring pencils. The meal boxes start from £7.50 and can be purchased when booking a flight with Jet2.com or a Real Package HolidayTM with Jet2holidays. Alternatively, they can be ordered post-booking through ‘Manage My Booking’ up to 48 hours before departure.

As well as the golden ticket giveaway, we also gave away complimentary meal boxes to children to celebrate them being served onboard on Random Acts of Kindness Day on Monday (17th February). Lucky children from across the country received a free meal box while flying with us.
