IATA Global Airport and Passenger Symposium (GAPS)

Event Information

With air travel expected to double by 2036, the industry will not be able to handle the growth or evolving customer expectations with the current processes, installations and ways of doing business. Accommodating growth with even bigger airports will be increasingly difficult – if not impossible.

GAPS has been established to examine the processes that touch the passenger journey, on the ground and in the air, and impact related airport processes and operations.

Specifically designed panels will explore existing technology solutions alongside processes that could define and impact on-ground concepts, and that can optimize the use of emerging technologies, processes and design developments.  Interactive discussions will revolve around valued-added solutions, coupled with case studies analyzing industry implementation and impact.

The future passenger journey will not be remiss, and delegates will have the chance to collectively shape future solutions through panel discussions, innovation sessions, and partake in the development of the future passenger journey storyline.

The two and a half day program will combine the panel discussions, in both plenary and topic-specific break-out sessions, with social events for networking in the evenings. An exhibition will showcase the latest products, technologies and solutions which define the passenger experience both on the ground, and in the air.
