With the epidemic finally over, China’s civil aviation sector is quickly transitioning from a big civil aviation country to a powerful civil aviation country. According to COMAC, China will have the largest single aviation market in the world by 2040, with a fleet size of 9,957 aircraft, or nearly 22% of the world’s passenger fleet. A big fleet size means a rising supply chain for allied industries: China’s need for engineering and maintenance services for civil aviation will reach $390 billion over the next two decades. This opens up enormous commercial potential that will necessitate the development of a broad industry chain and cutting-edge technology tools. With the gradual opening of China’s aviation maintenance market, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has encouraged and supported foreign and private enterprises to enter China’s aviation maintenance market, and aviation maintenance is on a return trend, gradually changing the original situation of relying heavily on foreign maintenance, making the civil aviation maintenance industry develop rapidly. At present, there are still relatively few large domestic aviation maintenance service enterprises, and with the development of domestic aviation maintenance technology and the improvement of customer requirements, domestic aviation maintenance enterprises will continue to expand the scope of maintenance service projects and develop to high precision service projects.

The mutual assistance of aviation materials has accompanied the development of Chinese civil aviation for about three decades. During this period, various organizations, forms and attempts have emerged. From now on, the industry still needs to make efforts to solve the problem with advanced technology and management tools. In a tight supply chain, to help the airlines handle the demand of aviation materials more reasonably in the future, and to break through the innovation in the mutual assistance and sharing of aviation materials to achieve greater supply chain improvement and cost reduction and efficiency has become a hot topic of concern for the whole industry.
