The Anniversary 10th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2017 will be held in Moscow, Russia from 25 to 27 May, 2017. It is Europe’s largest and the only Russian helicopter expo, showcasing the achievements of helicopter industry companies. HeliRussia’s venue, as always, is the “Crocus Expo” IEC.

Addressing participants and guests of the International Helicopter Industry Exhibition in 2016, the President of the Russian Federation noted that for the past many years HeliRussia firmly held the quality bar and maintained a high level of representation, which draws massive interest from industry professionals and the public.

HeliRussia 2017 is held in accordance with the decree No. 1140-r from June 19th 2015 of the Government of the Russian Federation. Expo’s organizer is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the event is executed by the “Russian Exhibition Systems” with Helicopter Industry Association (HIA) providing support.

Based on the extensive experience from previous years, HeliRussia 2017 is expanding its program in course of perceived growth of the helicopter market in Russia. For example, order backlog of the Russian Helicopters in 2016 reached almost 500 crafts. An increase is due to the light and offshore helicopters. Company’s share on the global market is an impressive 14%.

Certification completion and market entering in 2017 is scheduled for the new Russian medium multirole helicopters – Mi-171A2 and Mi-38. Industry experts predict high demand for these rotorcrafts from the major Russian and international helicopter operators. As for the light helicopters, the new Leonardo Helicopters AW119Ke and Bell 505 Jet Ranger X to enter the Russian market in 2017. Both are perfectly suited for the corporate use. Licensed production increase is planned for Airbus Helicopters H135 and Bell 407GXP helicopters.

2017 is expected to be a turning point for the aircraft certification in Russia – the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development are to complete the new set of rules designed to simplify the aircraft certification process. Thus in 2017 certification will not be necessary for the ultralight light and aircraft, including UAVs with a maximum take-off weight below 30 kg (66 lbs). This will give a great motivation for the R&D and spread of the light civil manned and unmanned aircrafts. A great interest for those have always been noted at HeliRussia – for example in 2016 much attention was turned to the light “air scooter” “Micron” and innovative Volocopter VC200. In addition, 16 UAV models were demonstrated at the expo.

Russian and foreign companies will showcase the samples of the entire spectrum of helicopter industry products and services during the Anniversary 10th HeliRussia. The expo is traditionally attended by aircraft designers and manufacturers, aircraft operators, repair and service plants, aviation and technical equipment dealers and other companies engaged in the helicopter industry. HeliRussia 2017 allows to present products of both civil and military purposes.

HeliRussia also serves as a unique forum for discussion of current sectoral and cross-sectoral issues. The expo is always accompanied by a comprehensive business program. In 2017 it is expected that discussion of vital topics will not only continue but will broaden noticeably. HeliRussia 2017 will be marked by a number of anniversary celebrations.

International helicopter industry exhibition HeliRussia promotes international cooperation in the helicopter industry being an integral part of the global helicopter market. 15 countries – Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Canada, South Africa and the Czech Republic – joined the expo in 2016 being represented by the 224 companies.
