With the recovery of the global economy and the increasing demand for air transport, especially the rapid growth of the market in the Asia-Pacific region, it will drive the demand for various types of aircraft and corresponding aero engines. More than 44,200 commercial aero engines are expected to be delivered worldwide between 2024 and 2033. In the next 20 years, the demand for civil aviation engines will reach a trillion scale, with an annual average of 50 billion yuan.

In 2025, the action plan for the first decade of the implementation of China’s manufacturing power strategy is about to arrive. Among them, intelligent manufacturing has always been the main direction of “Made in China 2025” plan. As the crown jewel of the aircraft manufacturing industry, the aircraft engine is the best engineering practice of intelligent manufacturing, and also represents the level and capability of a country’s manufacturing industry.

“Made in China 2025″plan to reflect the deep integration of information technology and manufacturing technology of digital network intelligent manufacturing as the main line. At the same time, the development and manufacturing of commercial aero engines integrates high economy, high strategic value, high difficulty and high urgency. Among them, the evaluation index and trend of civil engine, safety and cost affordability are the most priority considerations.

In the cost composition of aero engines, the cost of raw materials is as high as 40% to 60%, including titanium alloys, superalloys, ceramic matrix composites, aluminum alloys and steel. The world’s top aero engine manufacturers are accelerating the layout of future key technology materials, and this forum will also focus on the topic of emerging materials for commercial aero engines.

The theme of the 9th International Commercial Aero Engine Forum will be “Pursuing New Energy, Exploring Key Technologies, Manufacturing Aero Engines”, taking into account the basic principles of innovation-driven, green development, quality first and structural optimization, focusing on the key topic of manufacturing, to launch the technical exploration of commercial aero engines, and accelerate the application of basic research results to the third, fourth and fifth generations of civil aircraft.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering set up the position of chief engineer to coordinate the work of 14 key technical teams including the overall performance, overall structure and system safety of commercial aero engines. The forum will focus on the process, prospect and demand of key technologies, and invite guests from the Bureau, host units, industry leading research units, senior scientific research institutes and excellent parts supply enterprises to attend the forum. It is expected that more than 300 people will participate in the forum to jointly promote the innovative, efficient and sustainable development of the aviation engine industry.
