Till August 20, 2021, the total number of valid pilot licenses for Civil aircraft in China is 73,651. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the number of domestic aviation training schools has increased from 20 to 43, an increase of 115%. The number of pilot training bases increased from 27 to 75, an increase of 177%. The number of flight instructors increased from 440 to 825, an increase of 87.5%. China’s civil aviation pilot training capacity has been able to basically meet the needs of the industry development, a preliminary reversal of the past while part of the pilots need to be sent abroad for training, domestic pilot training capacity gradually enhanced at the same time, China’s civil aviation pilot training concept is gradually changing. On the basis of continuing to pay attention to the training quantity, training cycle and pilot technical skills training, more attention should be paid to the overall improvement of core competency, psychological competency and style competency. Continue to promote the construction of professionalism lifecycle management system. At present, the Asia-pacific aviation market, especially China’s domestic aviation market, is accelerating recovery accompany with fierce competition. The challenges brought by the epidemic have also provided the aviation industry with an opportunity to reflect and reform, and put forward higher requirements for the number and quality of pilots.
