Thousands of airport professionals will join more than 190 exhibitors from 60 countries to mark a new era of air travel powered by data analytics, artificial intelligence and robotics

The highly anticipated inter airport South East Asia 2019, organized by Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia opened its doors this morning, hosting over 190 of the world’s leading airport suppliers with the latest technology, design and services to help build smarter and more efficient airports. Held at Singapore Expo Hall Four from 27 February to 1 March 2019, over 3,500 attendees including airport equipment buyers, service providers and aviation professionals are expected to attend the three-day exhibition for networking and lead generation opportunities.

On what to expect at inter airport South East Asia, Mr Michael Wilton, Exhibition Director, Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia said, “inter airport South East Asia is an unrivalled launch pad for local and international suppliers to establish and strengthen their brand in this buoyant, emerging region. It is also a one-stop avenue that stimulates new ideas and technical know-hows for airport buyers looking to invest in the latest terminal equipment, IT systems and ground support equipment.”

Visitors from across the region will congregate for a first-hand experience and exciting demonstrations of the latest range of equipment, services, security screening, check-in, baggage handling systems, IT software, and ground support equipment. Suppliers include Honeywell, ITW GSE, ADB, Vanderlande, Interroll, Rapiscan, TLD, COBUS, Trepel, Singapore Aerospace and Aviation Services (SAAS), Siemens, Tyron, AVIPLAN, BEUMER Group, Bliss-Fox and Smarte Carte.

Delegates from regional airports and aviation authorities including Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport, Yangon Airport Group, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, Clark International Airport Corporation, Korea Airports Corporation and Incheon International Airport Corporation.

Guest-of-Honour, Rear Admiral. Krid Pimmanon, Deputy Director, U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport said, “Thailand has earmarked U-Tapao International Airport as the emerging aerospace hub in the ASEAN region to drive the new Eastern Economic Corridor project in the Eastern province of Rayong. As we undergo expansion to build new aviation infrastructure including aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, inter airport South East Asia is an opportune industry event that paves the way for us to meet and exchange best practices with international airport equipment suppliers.”

The exhibition has also received international support from associations around the world, with participation from the German Airport Technology & Equipment Association (GATE), British Airports Services and Equipment Association (BASEA) and French Airport and ATC Technology Trade Association (PROAVIA).

Advanced technologies converge in the new era of smart air travel
Visitors at inter airport South East Asia will get a glimpse into the potential of high-tech airports powered by data analytics, artificial intelligence and robotics, aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and passenger experience.

For the first time in Asia, Vanderlande will present FLEET, its new baggage logistics solution using automated guided vehicle technology. Supported by advanced data analytics, FLEET determines the most efficient route through an airport to ensure on-time delivery of time-critical (or ‘hot’) baggage, replacing the need for fixed conveyors and sorting systems.

Incheon International Airport will showcase the technology behind ChatBot, a new talking robot built-in with a message programme, voice recognition and artificial intelligence to interact with international passengers and provide navigation services in the terminals.

With experience equipping more than 500 airports worldwide, Honeywell, a global leader in connected airports, will demonstrate its latest wave of technologies designed for safe, efficient airside operations. Visitors can request for a demonstration of Honeywell NAVITASTM, an intelligent software suite that integrates air and ground traffic control with maintenance operations, so airports can accommodate growing air traffic while promoting safety and on-time performance.

The event also aims to accelerate the adoption of technological innovation and empower airports to venture into new growth areas through collaborations with local and regional start-ups.

Setting new benchmark in reducing carbon footprint in aviation operations
To support the transition to a sustainable aviation industry, ITW GSE, the leading supplier of ground power units (GPU), pre-conditioned air units, cables and hoses to the aviation industry, will showcase its latest 7400 battery-powered GPU. Using battery power instead of conventional diesel, this quiet, zero-emission alternative is a giant leap forward for airports looking to reduce carbon footprint in its operations. Equipped with a patented Plug & Play system, ITW GSE 7400 GPU will change how airport think about ground power as it can be easily transported wherever 400Hz supply is needed; ideal for gates and hangars with no fixed 400 Hz installations.

Co-located event – SMART Airports South East Asia
