Connected Aircraft Europe is delighted to announce Cobham have confirmed their support as Gold Sponsor of the event during Aerospace Technology Week taking place at the MOC Event Centre, Munich, Germany on 12th-13th March 2019.

The inaugural Connected Aircraft Europe aims to add new dimensions to the established connectivity themes of IFC and IFEC – by including Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Flight Tracking, Flight Operations, MRO applications and Connecting the 4 A’s (Airport, Airline, ATM and Aircraft).

Connectivity brings efficiencies. We need to look beyond just the connected aircraft and review how connecting the 4 A’s can really bring efficiencies to the whole system. From ground efficiencies and virtual control towers to 4D navigation, Connected Aircraft Europe also looks at practical examples of how airlines can connect to the bigger picture for more efficient operations.

The support of Cobham is a strong endorsement for an important industry development where airline operators around the world are increasingly deploying satellite and broadband-based solutions on their aircraft offering unprecedented visibility into their operations through dedicated IP connectivity between the aircraft and the ground.

Cobham Aerospace Communications is a market leading provider of radio and satellite communication equipment at the forefront of the connected cockpit revolution, delivering avionics, connectivity and satcom solutions for the aviation sector.

Passengers are demanding more from the aircraft in which they fly – 61% of passengers see high-quality inflight Wi-Fi availability as more important to them than on board entertainment. Moreover on board cockpit applications can utilise real-time data to improve asset utilisation, reduce fuel and emissions and assure the highest levels of safety in the skies. These include flight tracking, real-time graphical weather, optimised flight profiles and real-time aircraft performance monitoring.

Aerospace Technology Week
Bringing together the best aspects for aerospace technology, Aerospace Technology Week on 12th-13th March 2019 in Munich, Germany, comprises of Avionics Expo, Aero Testing Expo and Connected Aircraft Europe, delivering greater connectivity between these exciting, fast moving aerospace industry sectors.

Adrian Broadbent, Event Director of Aerospace Technology Week, said, “We are delighted that Cobham have chosen to support Connected Aircraft Europe in such a positive and high profile manner, demonstrating the importance of such a development as part of Aerospace Technology Week.”

“Connected Aircraft Europe will see over 100 airline representatives come an discover developments in the ever increasing connected aerospace industry, and over 1000 industry experts learn about the latest technology and avionics challenges and issues facing the aerospace sector,” concluded Mr Broadbent.
