Boeing, ADS and NATEP speakers for the UK's largest advanced engineering show

Advanced Engineering 2017 today announced a raft of speakers and conference topics, including talks from Boeing, WEAF and Natep. Topics will include how specific engineering problems have been overcome, as well as more strategic issues such as the fourth industrial revolution, Brexit, additive manufacturing and advances in aluminium engineering.

During the two-day open conference visitors will be able to hear from leading names within the aerospace industry covering thought-provoking topics that effect the industry every working day. On day one, Denzil J. Lawrence, UK Supplier Development from Boeing Commercial Airplanes will be discussing ‘Innovation and technology effectiveness in the supply chain’.

Other topics will include:

  • Simon Young, West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) – Want the Best? Look to the South West!;
  • Alex Martin, Vapormatt – The Science of Control: Wetblasting redefined;
  • Andy Page, Sharing In Growth UK Ltd – Delivering improved productivity through business transformation;
  • Colin Hart, ADS Group Limited – SC21: The burning issue. What’s in it for me?;
  • Professor Meiling Zhu, Exeter University – Self powered wireless sensing in Aerospace – piezoelectric and miniature turbine.

Issues will also be covered by NATEP, Bouygues Energies & Services and North West Aerospace Alliance.

The show is newly CPD accredited for this year, which acknowledges the effective professional development visitors of the conference can gain. Attending the conference will help visitors broaden their knowledge around the various advanced engineering sectors and the interesting and technical topics that will be discussed.

Advanced Engineering 2017 is the place where the UK supply chain meets face-to-face with engineering management, spanning: process, control and plant industries; R & D; design; test; production & procurement from OEMs, integrators and top tier industry players within multiple industries. It takes place on 1&2 November at the NEC, Birmingham.

New for this year: a dedicated zone for industry 4.0, Connected Manufacturing; and an expanded zone for start-ups sponsored by Magna International.

Now in its ninth year, the show is set for record breaking visitor numbers, bringing together over 700 exhibiting firms – all looking to source, specify and invest in the most up-to-date products and explore the latest industry innovations.
