In recent years, automation systems have become widely used in today’s aviation industry, especially in aircraft cockpits. Not only can it improve fuel efficiency and reduce the unit’s working load, but also can help the manual operation, and improve the passenger’s comfort. At the same time, excessive reliance on automation may lead to new patterns of error, that’s why new awareness and increased training needs appear.

During the forum, ZHOU Xiaoqing, Deputy General Manager of Flight Management of China Eastern Airlines pointed out that in today’s highly automated cockpit environment, the manual maneuvering ability of the unit is decreasing, low-level errors occur during critical periods. Automation systems will be closely connected with the aircraft system, including the operating system. It should follow the principle of safety concept to strengthen the training of manual operation.
