Air Dolomiti’s New Training Centre Takes Off

Air Dolomiti, member of Lufthansa Group, is following the growth of its fleet with the opening of a new training center in Nogarole Rocca, in the province of Verona: an investment aimed at ensuring the continuous professional training of its crew.

In just a few years, the airline has experienced a steady growth that has brought it to 25 Embraer aircraft (with 122 or 108 seats), with the aim of reaching 26 in the near future: an important and very rapid development that has entailed an increase in the number of flight and ground personnel, and has required a great deal of commitment in order to be adequately monitored and supported. This growth has made necessary the opening of a new training centre, in addition to the historic first facility at Caselle di Sommacampagna, which is no longer able to meet the changing training needs of the flight crews and that will remain operational to increase the warehouse and storage area.

The new training center, located not far from the motorway exit of Nogarole Rocca in Verona, features a mockup of an Embraer fuselage, the same aircraft type used in flight, to allow realistic and effective on-board simulations. There will also be a second Emergency practice area equipped with a slide for assisted passenger evacuations in the event of a forced landing. In addition to the two operational areas, the facility holds spacious training rooms, a refreshment area and some offices for trainers: a modern, functional and comfortable space to support pilots and cabin crews in the best possible way.

The continuous maintenance of aircraft, training and constant updating of pilots and cabin personnel are the fundamental and indispensable tools of every airline to guarantee the highest levels of safety and well-being for passengers and crews. Together with the flight simulator at LAT, Lufthansa’s training center in Frankfurt, this new training center allows us to maintain the high standards of practice and preparation of our flight personnel: we are very proud of the completion of this project, which confirms our commitment to the continuous monitoring of the quality and safety of our flights,” comments Steffen Harbarth, Air Dolomiti’s CEO.
