Air Dolomiti obtains EMAS registration Renewal and confirms compliance with international standards
Air Dolomiti, the Italian airline of Lufthansa Group, has obtained from the EMAS Italy Section of the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee the renewal with extension of its registration to the EMAS system, valid until 9 November 2026;
EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is an eco-label created by the European Community for public and private organizations that commit themselves to evaluating and improving their environmental performance.
Air Dolomiti has adopted an environmental management system in accordance with the EMAS regulation in order to achieve continuous improvement in its environmental performance. Following the verification of the management system and the validation of the environmental statement, carried out by an accredited verifier, the Committee renewed the registration of Air Dolomiti, which was the first Italian passengers airline to obtain it in 2021.
Adherence to EMAS ensures the introduction of eco-processes, reduces the incidence of environmental impacts, provides certainty of compliance with environmental regulations and encourages the growth of technical and scientific knowledge for the ongoing improvement of its performance indicators.
“EMAS registration is a voluntary environmental certification tool: although it is not compulsory, we strongly believe in this system, which we have been keen to activate and maintain over the years as a guarantee of our commitment to joint action to protect the environment. The EMAS logo on our environmental statement is proof of our determination to develop and support actions and projects aimed at building a sustainable future: for this reason we are proud to renew our participation”, says Steffen Harbarth, CEO of Air Dolomiti.
