Air Dolomiti is flying towards the future with the arrival of its 27th Embraer
The company’s growth continues with the addition of the first of 13 E195s to the fleet.
Air Dolomiti, part of Lufthansa Group, is wrapping up an exceptional 2025. The year has been marked by significant growth and an increasingly deep integration process within the Group. The airline has strengthened its role as a strategic carrier by consolidating existing operational synergies and laying the foundations for further network development.
The most significant development in this regard is the expansion of operational capacity. Today, the transfer of ownership from Austrian Airlines of the first Embraer 195 was completed. The aircraft is expected to arrive in the coming days and will start operating in March 2026. This marks the official launch of an ambitious programme that will continue until 2028 and involves the gradual introduction of 13 E195s, which will progressively replace the nine 108-seat E190s, increasing the fleet from the current 26 aircraft to a total of 30. This is a decisive step towards improving efficiency and capacity.
It is a path of expansion and growth that affects not only the fleet, but also the network of routes. During the 2025/26 winter season, 18 destinations are accessible from the Frankfurt hub, including major new destinations such as Amsterdam, Birmingham, Bordeaux, Basel, Prague and Zurich. From Munich we reach 15 destinations, including three new connections to Ljubljana, Luxembourg, and Zurich. This is a continually expanding range of services, designed to meet the needs of an ever-growing customer base.
Meanwhile, Air Dolomiti has increased its network within the Lufthansa Group. It now operates routes on behalf of Austrian Airlines, flying connections to the Vienna hub from Italian airports such as Milan Linate, Bologna and Venice, as well as from European airports like Belgrade and Košice. This is a concrete step towards stronger integration and evolving commercial cooperation.
Success is confirmed by the figures: over 4 million passengers are expected by the end of 2025, with more than 53,000 flights operated and a load factor of 75%. The punctuality and regularity of operations are also improving, thanks to a team of over 1,100 employees that is constantly growing. It is a team ready to support the company as it evolves.
“During the winter season, we serve 50 destinations in 15 countries from our hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna, as well as from our operating bases in Verona, Venice, and Florence. This extensive network reflects the company’s central role within the Lufthansa Group. We are closing 2025 with a solid foundation and a clear direction: to strengthen our position within the Group, boost efficiency and competitiveness, invest in aircraft and personnel, and continue growing sustainably,” comments Steffen Harbarth, CEO of Air Dolomiti.
